Overview

The Business Management with Marketing (Hons) from The University of Law Business School is aimed at students who have an interest in developing knowledge and understanding of the key aspects of business management and marketing, and in particular, who are looking to pursue a career in business management and marketing.

The curriculum and learning and teaching strategy are complemented by guest lectures and ‘live’ workshops to promote independent learning and increasing their employability skills for the future. Year 1 provides you with a good understanding of the foundations of business alongside the fundamentals of marketing. Years 2 and 3 gives you a thorough grounding in the more specialist concepts and applications of marketing management.

The programme provides the intellectual underpinnings required for a career in a rapidly changing work environment, a rigorous approach to self-awareness and personal development and a significant exposure to the world of work and its current demands through work experinece opportunities.

The degree is ideal for those interested in a future career in Business or Marketing.

The programme offers students a thorough grounding in business and the more specialist concepts and applications of marketing management.

Students will be exposed to the relational nature of marketing, the primacy of customers in the digital world, how strategic marketing works, and how marketing communications can aid the success of the organization in the international context. Students will have an opportunity to qualify for the CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership (5D1V2) or the Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management (5C1V2) dependent on successful completion of modules which are mapped to one of these CMI awards.

General requirements

Year 1 Entry:

BBC at A Level and Grade C/4 or above in GCSE Maths and English Language, or equivalent qualifications. Applicants who will be under the age of 18 but no younger than 17 at the commencement of the course are permitted.

Non-standard information

Non-standard entry route B:

Applicants who do not possess BBC at A Level or equivalent, will instead be invited to a formal interview along with providing three years of appropriate work experience evidenced in a full CV along with two work references. Applicants must still display the appropriate level of competence in both English Language and Mathematics.

International Entry: Year 1 Entry:

An English language level equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or above with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
