Careers
While many graduates pursue careers in music or history and heritage, this degree will enable you to tackle a variety of career options in administration, commerce, management, and other professions. Graduates have in recent years gained careers in museum work, law, teaching and the cultural industries (e.g. as music publishers, concert managers, community arts officers, stage managers, recording and broadcasting producers, and sound engineers). Many former students have followed these degrees with either further musical training, as performers or composers, or postgraduate study in History or Music, and there are opportunities for all these at Bangor.
By studying the History and Music (Hons) course from Bangor University a degree in History and Music you will acquire a wide range of transferable skills, be they academic or personal. History and Music graduates are desirable employees due to the variety of skills they develop during the course of their degree.

- Offers are tariff based, 104 - 128 tariff points from a Level 3 qualification* e.g.:
- A Levels: including grade B Music.** History or Archaeology preferred but not required. General Studies and Key Skills not normally accepted.
- BTEC National Extended Diploma in Music: DMM - DDM (including a unit demonstrating the ability to read staff notation - or see**)
- Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma**: DMM- DDM
- City & Guilds Advanced Technical Extended Diploma (1080)**: considered on a case-by-case basis
- International Baccalaureate Diploma: including grade H5 in Music**
- Access**: pass required
- Welsh Baccalaureate**: We will accept this qualification in conjunction with other level 3 qualifications
- T Levels**: T Levels in a relevant subject considered on a case-by-case basis
- Extended Project Qualification: Points can include a relevant Extended Project (EPQ) but must include a minimum 2 full A-levels, or equivalent.
