Overview
Architecture shapes the spaces where life unfolds: our homes, schools, theatres, hospitals and the environments that connect us. At Nottingham, you’ll learn to design with creativity and purpose.
Year one studio modules provide a strong foundation with a focus on the fundamental skills of design and presentation. In later years, you’ll have the freedom to choose from up to 12 design studio units, allowing you to explore areas that interest you the most.
At the Architecture and Environmental Design (Hons) programme offered by University of Nottingham , you’ll also join the vertical studios, working alongside students from different years in a collaborative environment that encourages peer mentoring and creative exchange.
Learning goes beyond the classroom, with a mixture of workshops, study trips and real-world projects involving clients and industry experts—giving you the experience that architectural practice and design-based industries seek.
Career opportunities:
You will have developed the full set of architectural design skills offered by the BArch course but with a specialism in environmental design. Graduates may gain experience with consulting engineers and gain Chartered Engineer status or follow the same part as the BArch students towards gaining professional architect status.
This course is recognised by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Architects' Registration Board (ARB) for exemption from their Part One professional examination. It is also accredited by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).
