Overview
The International Year One in Engineering - Computer Science with Professional Experience from INTO Queen's University Belfast is a form of preparation course that will allow you to advance your language skills or grades while still getting the credits you need to graduate the full-time degree.
This option allows you a way to complete your studies at the same time with local students taking the regular Direct Entry program. Depending on your language level, the International Year One can take one or multiple semesters to complete.

General requirements
- Two 'D' grades from a UK A-level board, a recognised foundation, first year of an overseas university degree programme or equivalent with good grades. Students will be expected to have studied Mathematics and preferably Physics at this level. Students wishing to study Chemical Engineering must have GSCE Chemistry grade 4/C or equivalent.
- 16 years and above
- Standard option: IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in reading and writing and no less than 5.0 in all other subskills) or equivalent.
- Extended option: 4 Terms: IELTS 5.0 (with a minimum of 5.0 in reading and writing and no less than 4.5 in all other subskills) or equivalent.
Extended option: 5 Terms: IELTS 4.5 (with a minimum of 4.5 in all subskills) or equivalent.
