Overview

The (Hons) Performance and Recording course from the University of West London aims to develop your skills as a performer and writer, as well as your technical knowledge, giving you essential industry know-how in order to develop a rewarding music career.

During your studies, you will have access to one of the largest audio complexes in Europe, which includes nearly 20 professionally equipped music studios, acoustically designed recording studios and multi-performance production studios.

Throughout your music performance course, you will be guided with extensive music industry experience as well as benefiting from one-to-one tuition on your first study instrument.

General requirements

112-128 UCAS tariff points from Level 3 qualifications, normally including Music or an alternative relevant subject area. These can include:

A Levels at grade B, B and C, or above
BTEC Extended Diploma with Distinction, Merit, Merit
Access to HE Diploma

You also need GCSE English and Maths (grade 9 – 4 / A* - C) or Level 2 equivalents.We require a minimum of grade 6 performance on your first instrument or voice, preferably grade 5/6 Sight Reading, preferably grade 5 Music Theory. If you believe you meet the required standard but have no formal qualifications we may invite you for an audition. Our auditions are informal and include a relaxed interview. You must also show experience with music technology.
