Overview
Dalhousie University 's Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurship programme prepares you to start or acquire a business, act entrepreneurially in a large organization, or provide services to the entrepreneurial community. Your degree includes a co-op programme where you’ll gain real-world work experience and a salary.
Programme options
Enjoy the opportunity to learn skills related to innovation and entrepreneurship, while also developing core business-related capabilities, including marketing, accounting, and finance, which are also essential for entrepreneurs.
While you earn your degree, you’ll complete three four-month paid work terms as part of the mandatory co-op programme. Some entrepreneurship students choose to complete their work term at start-up ventures or in product development. If you have your own business venture (or an idea for one), you may be able to complete an Entrepreneurial Work Term during work term two or three. Enrolling in more than one Entrepreneurial Work Term can help further develop your business model and operation.
The following Entrepreneurship programme options are offered by Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Management:
- Bachelor of Commerce with Major in Entrepreneurship (Co-op)
- Certificates including Fintech and Financial Innovation, Leadership, Management Accounting and Quantitative Finance.
What you will learn
Have you ever wondered how great ideas turn into innovative solutions that people, organizations, and communities want to adopt? A major in entrepreneurship will give you the skills to take ideas and actualize them into sustainable business endeavours that generate new jobs and create regional wealth.
After graduating, you’ll be ready to apply your entrepreneurial skills and knowledge in ethical, socially responsible, and innovative ways.
Possible careers include:
- Venture Capitalist
- Franchiser/Franchisee

- Economic Developer
Future studies often include graduate studies in business administration or science and technology.
