As a Dual Degree with Columbia University student, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in two distinct academic, social, and cultural environments: a close-knit small college in a French regional setting and a research university in New York City.

The Dual Degree with Columbia University programme at Sciences Po builds upon a decade-long partnership between Sciences Po and Columbia University through the Alliance Program, a joint venture between Columbia, Sciences Po, the École Polytechnique, and the Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne that aims to develop new initiatives in the fields of education cooperation, research collaboration, and policy outreach. Students who complete the program will earn two bachelor's degrees.

As a Dual BA Program student you’ll begin your college education by spending two years at one of three Sciences Po campuses, each of which is devoted to a particular region of the world and offers a heavy linguistic and cultural focus:

  • Le Havre — Located on the Normandy Coast and focusing on Asia, with language instruction in Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, and Korean.
  • Menton — Located on the French Riviera and focusing on the Mediterranean countries and the Middle East, with language instruction in Arabic*, Hebrew, Italian, Spanish, and Turkish.
  • Reims — Located in the Champagne region and offering programs that focus on either North America or Africa, the Transatlantic campus offers language instruction in Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swahili. Students in Reims focus on relations between Europe and Africa or Europe and North America during their first two years.

Academic Program

  • Students will earn two bachelor’s degrees in four years.
  • The first two years in Sciences Po will focus on social sciences and language instruction in the campus-specific region of study (Euro-African, Euro-American, Euro-Asian, or Euro-Middle Eastern).
  • The second two years at GS will be spent fulfilling Columbia University’s core and major requirements as well as Sciences Po's year abroad requirements.

After Graduation

  • Students will receive two bachelor’s degrees from leading educational institutions and will have access to a network of alumni that includes heads of government and state, Nobel Prize winners, and leading academics in their fields.
