Health Sciences from University of Manitoba provides students with an interdisciplinary background and skill set that will contribute to their preparation for a future in biomedical and health-related careers. This interdisciplinary skill set is seen as advantageous for future physicians and for students applying for professional education.

Careers

This program provides a solid basis for engagement in community, cultural and political contexts concerned with health and illness.

Graduates will not achieve any professional status upon degree completion; however, the program can provide a foundation for students who wish to enter professional programs and also offer another route for students to gain access to specialized programs for both health and social science fields.

Graduates can be expected to strengthen the capacity of institutions in which they work to address local health problems in an inclusive manner. This has the potential to reduce health care costs by training people who can assist in delivery of cost-effective and client-centered services, including the development of new models of service delivery.
