Description

Maverick Academic Scholars are selected from incoming freshmen that have a demonstrated history of strong academic performance.

Maverick Academic Scholarships range from $1,000 to $8,000 per year and may be renewed for up to three additional years.

Eligibility

  • The awards vary based upon individual student profile, the stronger the profile, the higher the award.
  • Every incoming freshman will receive a holistic review by the Scholarship Committee of their academic record for scholarship consideration.
  • A variety of factors are considered using a combination of academic qualifications such as high school rank, GPA, test scores and difficulty of high school courses.

The academic profile of a typical Maverick Academic Scholar will include a combination of the following qualifications below:

  • Top 25% high school rank;
  • 3.7 High School GPA (on an unweighted 4.0 scale calculated by UTA’s Admissions Office);
  • A minimum 1280 SAT or 27 ACT.
