Description

The Swire Group has maintained a strong relationship with HKU since the early 1900s. In addition to funding scholarships at the university, it has contributed generously to the expansion of the university's facilities, including the Swire Hall and the Swire Institute of Marine Science. In 1998, the Swire Group established the Swire Study Abroad Scholarship to support student exchange.

Swire Study Abroad Scholarship is available to an undergraduate student, enrolling any in programme within the university.

Eligibility

Selection criteria:

  • General academic merit;
  • Suitability of the intended programme of study abroad;
  • Leadership qualities; and
  • Financial need

Award of the Scholarship will be subject to the successful candidate:

  • Joining the study abroad programme arranged by his or her Faculty or arranged by the University;
  • Being admitted to a programme of study at a university or college overseas.

The Scholarship cannot be held concurrently with other enrichment scholarships administered by the University.

Scholarship awardees are required to submit an exchange report after they return to HKU.
