What You’ll Study
Over twelve semesters, you will focus on four key areas of learning. You will build a thorough understanding of human biology in stages of health and disease. The programme will also equip you with the skills demanded of medical professionals, including diagnostic abilities, problem-solving skills, effective communication, and clinical management. You will take a broader look at the medical profession and explore population health, health services, economics, and policy. Finally, your degree will explore medical ethics, professional attitude, and behaviour.
Professional Recognition
HKU’s MBBS degree is recognised as a primary qualification by the Medical Council of Hong Kong.
Career Prospects
Following graduation, you will be required to complete a one-year residency in a public hospital before registering as a licensed doctor in Hong Kong. Your medical training will enable you to pursue a variety of exciting career options in public hospitals, private practice, clinical teaching, medical research, and healthcare administration.
