History
Since 1958 the Institute for Higher Social Communication Studies (IHECS) has organised training in the field of journalism and communication by linking media theory and practice together.
Education
The IHECS trains future press and communication professionals by offering different Masters degrees:
- Journalism (Masters in Press and Information)
- Advertising
- Public Relations
- Sociocultural Activities and lifelong learning
- Media literacy
Research
IHECS leads different pilot European journalism teaching projects. In particular it is co-founder of Micro-Europa, a network of twelve journalism schools, originating from eight European countries, which work to achieve common thematic broadcasts, traversing local, transnational and European foundations and offering exchanges on solid methodology and projects.

Very good university with an interesting program that permits to develop many personal skills. They offer to you a great experience and support you during all the years of your studies.

What worked : diversity of learning path (journalism/publicity/web/graphism/public relations,...), ability to put the theory in practice, quality of education, multiculturality What didn't work : weirdly, the communication over organisation
Bachelor degree at IHECS
The bachelor degree program at IHECS is very good, it is broad-based and practically oriented. You learn a lot in a pleasant environment. The language courses provide a high level. The school offers a broad choice of destinations for an exchange semester and is very helpful with the process. Another great point is the location of the school right in the center of Brussels.
