The University takes its name from the 14th Century "Turris Vergatae" that was owned by the Roman noble family of Annibaldi. In 1982, in the South-East district of the city of Rome, the University was founded by a group of brilliant professors and young fellow researchers, becoming chronologically the second public university of the city of Rome.
The six Schools at Tor Vergata offer programmes in English at all the Italian educational levels:

Tor Vergata has built a strong network oh national and international companies and yearly activates so many internships that our students enrolled to the courses held in English are for the 90% of them occupied with a 6-month or 1-year contract before the graduation.
Many of those contracts become job positions and our placement rate for the MSc reaches the 100% for some courses.
An International Students Office provide students with all the information about Study Visa and on-line assessments, as well as general information about the Italian University System and the Welcome Office is available for information about programmes, accommodation, fees, life in Roma, and scholarships. Furthermore, all the courses held in English at Tor Vergata have their own Programme Office, looking after students before their arrival and during their career. For all the procedures concerning studying abroad, students can refer to the Erasmus+ Office.
