History
The University of Rome Tor Vergata was established in 1982: it is therefore a relatively young University. It was designed on the model of Anglo-Saxon campuses: it stretches on 600 hectares and hosts important research institutions, such as CNR and the Italian Space Agency - ASI.
Education
The University of Rome Tor Vergata is structured in 6 Schools (Economics; Law; Engineering; Humanities and Philosophy; Medicine and Surgery; Mathematics, Physics and Natural Sciences) which are organised in 18 Departments.
Moreover, Tor Vergata teaching encompasses 150 post lauream courses (advanced training courses, 1st and 2nd Level Vocational Master) and 50 Specialisation Schools.
The offered training covers more than 200 professional figures and possible career opportunities.
Research
The University of Rome “Tor Vergata” develops thematic and inter-disciplinary research programmes with first-class institutions (at national and international level) and the best universities worldwide.
At present 99 projects are funded by the EU within the 7th Framework Programme and 42 projects are funded through other European and international programmes.
Career
Tor Vergata University of Rome offers a variety of career services tailored to enhance the students experience during and after their study career. The Placement Office for example organises several career days among university faculties. Also the alumni associations are often promoting events created to help students meet with the most influential companies in the market.

CampusX is the closest accommodation service offered by Tor Vergata University and the largest resort for students in Italy.

Medical services
The Campus hosts one of the most modern hospitals in Italy, i.e. University Hospital Tor Vergata, a care and research centre which is a reference point for the whole Lazio region and where our Medical School is active as well.
Campus life
Campus life at Tor Vergata University Rome is extremely exciting and stimulating. Tor Vergata takes care of its students and staff by offering a wide selection of events, services, sport activities, and special offers. Also Campus X, the main student accommodation, is a reliable landmark for events and entertainment.
Sports facilities
Tor Vergata University of Rome is focused on health and sport. The University is located on a six-hundred-acre campus and hence has a natural vocation for sports. Sports facilities consist of two 5-a-side soccer fields, a tennis court, a basketball court and a volleyball court.
They integrate with a number of private sports facilities close to the campus which are University partners in order to offer students, professors and technical and administrative staff a diverse range of sports disciplines.
A school field has recently been added as part of such partnerships: it is equipped with a privately run golf course which is open at night too.

With its ability to generate relationships and content, ALET wants to increase the personal and professional growth opportunities of its members, helping to raise awareness of a “dispersed” cultural and professional heritage, strengthening the sense of belonging to the institution from which university education is received.
- ALITUR
Founded to build a network of former students, professors, researchers of the Tor Vergata School of Engineering, in order to consolidate the capital of competences originating from the University into the association and which the members further enrich over time.
