History
The University for the Creative Arts (UCA) is a UK-based specialist art and design university formed in 2005 from the merger of the Kent Institute of Art & Design and the Surrey Institute of Art & Design.
Education
UCA offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and research degrees, plus an integrated international foundation year. Every course is built to prepare you for the creative industry, combining practice-based learning with cultural and theoretical insight.
You can choose from a wide variety of creative courses from Architecture, Fine Art, Games, Fashion and more, giving you the freedom to explore your chosen creative career. We want you to explore, collaborate and experiment.
You’ll work with practising artists and professionals, with options to study abroad. Scholarships and fee discounts are available through UCA and independent providers to support your studies.
Research
UCA is the UK’s top specialist art and design university for world-leading research outputs (REF 2021). As a research student, you’ll join a top ten creative research community with specialist facilities and expert networks.
Career

Student services
The university offers a number of services to help students access support while studying, both in person and online, on various aspects of personal and academic life, student finance, and welfare issues. The university has a specialist support team for students with disabilities, and there is a learning and teaching service to help those who need extra support with their studies and to get the most out of their course. International students can also receive specialist advice on immigration and visas, as well as English language support, to make it easier for students from all over the world to apply to UCA and study in the creative arts in the UK.
Housing services
Halls of residence are available at each of UCA’s campuses and are a great option, especially for overseas students. Some are on-campus, while others are a short walk from campus. All halls of residence are self-catered with access to a shared kitchen and have a mix on en-suite and shared bathrooms. They also have internet access and basic contents insurance included within accommodation fees.Private accommodation is also an option and is plentiful in and around each of the campus areas. The university’s accommodation teams will be happy to assist students with relevant contacts and information, should they wish to rent privately.
Library services
With over 280,000 print and e-books and exhibition catalogues, 500m of archival material and a wide range of broadcast materials, our libraries hold a wealth of information that will enhance your studies and offer extensive specialist services for our research community. The largest library, located on the Farnham campus, includes comfortable study pods and socialising space for group study.
ICT services
We have a combination of Macs and PCs available for open access use by students at the
University.

Medical services
As a student, UCA is committed to make sure you are sufficiently supported and protected, from ensuring that you use our specialist facilities safely to providing a wellbeing and counselling service.
Students can register with a doctor (GP) locally, and UCA has local guides for each campus that include a list of hospitals and GPs if you need medical attention.
Campus life
UCA has multiple campuses located across the Southeast of England in Surrey and Kent, all within easy reach of London by public transport, allowing students to take advantage of everything that the city has to offer. Each campus has a diverse range of shops, supermarkets, restaurants, and nightlife, ensuring that you have easy access to everything you need. All campuses have exhibition spaces displaying work by students and external artists. CCTV Surveillance is available at all campuses and halls of residence to ensure safety and security.
Sports facilities
Students can use the university's extensive indoor and outdoor sports facilities, which include dance/fitness studios, artificial pitches, and tennis courts.
In addition to providing fitness facilities to students, the sports clubs at the university student union participate in a variety of championships and sporting events.
Student clubs
All students at UCA automatically become a member of the Students’ Union, which represents the student body, organises events and activities, and provides support to students. There are numerous clubs and societies available to students, covering a wide range of interests, from K-pop dance to animation; there is something for everyone. It is an opportunity for you to meet people with similar interests, and students are encouraged and supported to join existing clubs and societies or to start new ones.

No doubt, UCA offers the best in creativity and innovation. Every course is well taught, every class brings inspiration that propel good result. UCA brings out the best in their students and build them to be solution providers to their world.
Digital Marketing and social media
I thoroughly enjoy my course and the range of subject we study. The content is very modern and is up to date with current social media advance such as AI. The university does well to encourage our studies in these topics with extra seminars from outside lecturers, as well as workshops with the wide range of facilities the University has to offer. This includes screen printing, digital printing, textiles work and the studios where you can hire out equipment and the studio to run your own photoshoot. Campus life is very supportive and there is wide range of support for a variety of needs the students may require. However I have struggled to understand specific requirements within my course for assessments due to the fact it is a new course, therefore there isn�t previous work or materials we can use as a framework. I believe this university and course was the right choice for me and I enjoy my studies here.
Graphic design
Everyone you meet, student or staff are really friendly. With the staff happy to help when seriously struggling, and will push you to succeed in your course. They will also help with give advice for you course when money is a problem and where or who to go to for support.
