The university has been functioning under the current name since 1945. It was established and organised by researchers from Lvov and Warsaw. Since the very beginning of its existence, it has been an important centre of technical education.
The university is involved in the following research programmes: Erasmus+, Erasmus-Mundus, the 7th Framework Programme, and Leonardo da Vinci.
The high level of research carried out, matching the world’s best, and the well-equipped laboratories result in a wide co-operation with Polish and international companies, e.g. Philips Lighting Poland S.A., KOGENERACJA S.A., Toyota, LG, WABCO, EnergiaPro, KGHM Polska Miedz S.A., Whirlpool. As part of these agreements, joint research projects are carried out. Also, students gain the opportunity to perform internships or training or to write their diploma thesis in the branches of the renowned companies in any part of the world.

Help for disabled students
UKSiDZ is an organisation for students and PhD students of the Wroclaw University of Technology. It is involved in such projects as: opening days for foreigners, Christmas Eve meetings for international students or World Days – meetings organised to share the culture and customs from various parts of the world. There is also a regular event called World Cuisines when you can taste traditional dishes from various countries our visitors come from.
Center for Scientific and Technical Information functions both as a scientific and technical information centre and as a public scientific library. There are also branch libraries at the faculties, institutes, and other organizational units, which together with the Traditional Library and the Electronic Library form an integrated information and library system of the University.
Electronic Information Bulletin for Students, it is intended for people who are interested in university life and in Wroclaw. There is information about events mainly for students and there are some especially interesting offers for the students of the Wroclaw University of Technology.
Psychological and Psychotherapy Clinic
As our student you can choose from a variety of sports to fill your free time. The majority of courses are free of charge, but for some of them you will have to pay. Some of the sports you can take up include swimming, horse-riding, rock-climbing, rowing, windsurfing, skiing, martial arts, archery, aerobics, body-building, mountain biking, rope climbing, paragliding, golf, voleyball, table tennis, basketball, football and rugby.
Also, there are many students’ organisations at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. Students have the opportunity to develop their scientific and creative passions, as well.
The degrees awarded by Wroclaw University of Science and Technology are a symbol of high quality of education, confirmed by the National Accreditation Committee and the Accreditation Committee of Universities of Technology.
In general, I like the European approach to education. Poland is currently practicing it and my university is no exception. However, now the whole system is at a fairly basic level and many points related, for example, to ECTS scores are not provided for by the regulations and many issues have to be settled with the administration of the university. As far as I know university is really good friendly and helpful. Not just me even I made my sister enroll in the same university so that sum up how much I like it . But the problem is with the city itself people over here are not as friendly as I thought they were it's gonna be a problem for the foreigners
i am not feeling good at the university. the langugage is a big barrier and it is sometimes real hard to understand what the professors are talking.
