In 2013, the university was renamed Technische Hochschule Nürnberg Georg Simon Ohm in recognition of the applied research and educational quality of our programs. We are very proud of this recognition, but also of the history preceding and culminating in the achievement.
The Nuremberg Institute of Technology is a university of applied sciences. Hands-on teaching and research provide students with an education that combines the use of scientific methods and artistic concepts. Additional emphasis is placed on acquiring the "soft" skills required in modern work environments. The university supports and encourages students to develop social and intercultural skills.

All exchange/program students of the Nuremberg Institute of Technology can be allocated a room in one of the student residence halls for the period of their stays (max. 2 semesters). These halls are administered by the student services (Studentenwerk) Nuremberg-Erlangen. The rental terms and conditions are mentioned in the special tenancy (SOK). Exchange students can only apply for a room in the student residence halls if they accept all the terms and conditions mentioned in the SOK. The Library of the Nuremberg Tech divides into three locations and subject areas, respectively the Central Library for Engineering, Architecture and Design, the Departmental Library for Business and Social Studies and the Reference Library for Computer Science and other locations.

Most of the university's IT services are only available to university members and can therefore only be used within the university network. If you are outside the campus and want to use the IT services, you must first connect to the university network via VPN. To do this, you have to install the VPN client once on your PC / mobile device. Instructions can be found on the data center website.

The full-time teaching staff has both excellent academic and professional credentials, and the part-time lecturers hold top managerial positions in major international companies.
The accreditation was carried out by ASIIN e.V., which is also entitled to award the hallmark of ECTNA (European Chemistry Thematic Network Association) if the requirements are met. The degree programmes are therefore additionally marked with the subject-specific quality seals (labels) Eurobachelor® and Euromaster® awarded in accordance with the ECTNA.

It is a great campus, the courses were relevant and adapted, I received support as an international student. Definitely recommend it! The student association is always helpful and organizes, along the administrative staff, many social activities to help the students connect. Many internships/jobs opportunities are always recommended as well.
I liked the smaller class sizes compared to other business administration programs. Furthermore, teaching in English was probably the main reason I opted for this program, as I wanted to learn from native speakers of English, which I luckily could. Honestly, I think the quality declined slightly from the start to the end as fewer and fewer native speakers were lecturers. However, I liked the flexibility of choosing my frequently updated electives, the mandatory semester abroad, and the practical semester. All in all, I can only suggest this program to people that would like to work internationally.
So far almost all of my classes were online but most professors handeled the situation very well and tried to get us the best study experience as possible. I like that all classes are in English and that at least some professors also are native speakers, however in some courses it was quite hard to understand the accents. Overall I like it so far.
