Housing services

Our main campus is in Middlesbrough, one of the most affordable places in the UK.

The region is famous for beautiful countryside, historic towns and a long coastline. London, Manchester or Edinburgh are under three hours away by train. York and Leeds are just over an hour away.

Our vibrant campus has facilities for study, leisure and fitness – all within walking distance. On campus you’ll find ‘The Curve’ – an iconic ultra-modern teaching space, our award-winning library, and our Students’ Union which is ranked in the top 3 globally by international students.

Library services

Our library has four floors of quality, up-to-date resources with experienced staff on hand, 1,300 places for individual and group study, access to over 40,000 books and 79,500 journals. There are over 400 PCs available for use in the library, and there are specialist academic librarians for each subject area. 

ICT services

Enjoy technology that meets your needs, from Macs for high-end design to hi-tech workstations for complex visualisation and software development, and over 2,700 workstations on campus.

Campus life

We've invested £270m in our friendly town campus at the heart of Middlesbrough, and when you come to Teesside University you will discover that our campus facilities are first class. From the Curve, our new £20m teaching facility, to our Campus Heart outdoor space.

Sports facilities

We have superb facilities for sport and wellbeing on campus and nearby. Our flagship Olympia building houses top-of-the-range sport and exercise labs, a temperature-controlled environmental chamber, 500-spectator sports hall for major tournaments, floodlit artificial turf pitch and a climbing wall. The new £2.5m health and fitness suite includes the latest cardiovascular and resistance fitness equipment, free weights areas, a sprint track, multi-purpose studios, sauna and a specialist treatment area.

Off-campus you will enjoy our 60-acre Saltersgill sports ground, River Tees Water Sports Centre for rowing, canoeing and kayaking, and the nearby Tees Barrage with its world-class white water rafting course.
