Jacobs University’s library is part of the Information Resource Center (IRC), housed in the spacious Campus Center building. Quiet, group, and individual study areas, equipped with WLAN, power and network connections, offer space for learning in groups or individually.

Medical doctors and hospitals are in the neighborhood. Health insurance companies have offices on Campus. Our Student Service Center helps students to make doctors appointments.

Campus life
- Jacobs University’s green and tree-shaded campus covers an area of 34 hectares. The architecture combines modern designs with gabled brick structures built in the last century. The campus features buildings for teaching and research with a total of 5,600 square meters of laboratory space equipped to the highest standards.
- The beautiful historic city center of Bremen is only a short ride by public transportation away (20 minutes). Facilities for everyday life are in the neighborhood.
Sports facilities
- The Jacobs Sports and Convention Center (SCC) houses four multi-purpose sports halls, a fitness center, and a rowing tank. Jacobs offers a wide variety of physical activities to recharge your mental batteries.
- If you just want to stay fit, you can work out at the gym, go swimming, or join fitness groups such as zumba or yoga. We also have a martial arts room and a dance room. There are many sports clubs active on Campus: Basketball, Badminton, Soccer, Rowing etc.
Student clubs
Jacobs University does not only offer an excellent academic education but also many opportunities for students outside of the classroom. The various student-driven social and cultural activities encompass events throughout the year, and student clubs range from arts to sports and community groups.

Accreditation
Upon its foundation, Jacobs University Bremen gGmbH has been state-approved in accordance with §122(1) of the Higher Education Act of the City State of Bremen. In 2001, Jacobs University Bremen has been institutionally accredited by the German Council of Science and Humanities. This accreditation has been renewed in 2008.

My experience in Jacobs University was overall nice one, specially for the field that I was studying as we had many labs where we could develop our skill on an experimental level as well as good detailed lectures for the theoretical part.

I have always wanted to study physics but had no idea how rigourous the course could get until I entered Jacobs university. But the well thoughtout and rigourous course structure are actually there to have us laden with all the tools and knowledge needed to embark on a journey of either it be scientific research or higher studies including a PhD. The first years in...

I like that it is quite easy to understand the application process. Maybe the improvement might be a little bit more communication with the students. I like it, despite the difficulties I may have as new here!
