History
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science were established in 2004 - but has roots dating back to 1775. This is when Linnaeus's disciple Peter Hernquist started Sweden's first veterinary training in Skara. Today, we are responsible for the country's research and higher education in veterinary medicine and animal science. We now have a thousand students and about 200 graduate students.
Education
The Faculty's education programs are popular. Many of them are among the most popular in Sweden. The courses combine theory and practice and the students have very good opportunities to find work after graduation.
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science offers education with focus on animals. The faculty offers programmes and courses on Bachelor's, Master's and doctoral level.Research
