History
In 1915, the Sisters of Loretto had a bold vision of establishing a university that would admit and educate only women. Opening with five students, the institution’s first graduating class totaled just two women.
Today our main campus looks quite different than it did more than a century ago — and even different from when it was renamed Webster University in 1983.
Education
At Webster Athens, we’re dedicated to excellence in teaching, incorporating a global-centric philosophy throughout our rigorous curriculum. Every step of the way, you’ll receive the personal attention necessary to thrive and rise to our academic challenges.

At Webster Athens, we offer four master’s degrees which attract students - like yourself - from around the country and the world. You’ll have an unforgettable academic experience that will prepare you for future professional and personal successes.
Career
If you're considering changing your major or career plans or don't know whether you should pursue additional education, meet with your career advisor to discuss your options and receive resources for researching prospective majors and careers. You'll learn more about your interests, personality, skills, strengths, and values through discussion and, if relevant to your decision making process, may complete career assessments like CliftonStrengths for Students, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, or the Strong Interest Inventory.
