History
The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts was founded in 1997 under the name Fachhochschule Zentralschweiz (FHZ – University of Applied Sciences of Central Switzerland), but most of its Schools go back much further than that. The Lucerne School of Business can look back to 1971 and the founding of the Höhere Wirtschafts- und Verwaltungsschule

The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – School of Business is your partner for higher education in business and management in Central Switzerland. The bachelor's and master's degree programmes offered by the Lucerne School of Business help students make the transition into a new career. When it comes to continuing and executive education, professionals can choose from around 200 business and management courses.
Research
Research knowledge for teaching and practice: Working closely with industry, service providers, public authorities, not-for-profit organisations and federations/associations, the Lucerne School of Business initiates and conducts research projects, whose findings inform both teaching and practice.The Lucerne School of Business conducts research – much of it within an interdisciplinary environment – in the following areas: Financial Controlling and Accounting, Finance and Banking, Communication and Marketing, Public Management and Economics, Tourism and Mobility, and Company Management.

The Helpdesk is available for all staff, students and people involved in a continuing and executive education course at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
Medical services
Everyone living in Switzerland for longer than three months is required to take out health insurance to cover their medical treatment in case of illness and accidents. If a foreign student can prove that they have equivalent insurance coverage in their home country, which covers their stay in Switzerland, the requirement to take out Swiss health insurance may be waived.
Campus life
The Lucerne School of Business teaches and conducts research in Lucerne and Rotkreuz. Its campuses are centrally located and well served by public transport.

The Lucerne School of Business is accredited by the Swiss Agency of Accreditation and Quality Assurance and is hoping to receive its accreditation from the AACSB in February 2022.
