The Estonian Aviation Academy (EAVA), founded in 1993, is a leading higher education institution in the Baltic region, educating and training specialists for aviation enterprises and organizations. The studies are carried out at the professional and the first level of higher education in our modern propeller-shaped study building, situated next to Tartu Airport.

History

By today the education institution founded as Tartu Aviation College in 1993 and renamed Estonian Aviation Academy in 2008 has become one of the most successful higher education institutions in the Baltic region. 

Our modern campus is equipped with all the necessary equipment to teach the future pilots, air traffic controllers, engineers and aviation specialist.

As a public university, EAVA strives to create an engaging learning environment and therefore places its highest priority on teaching, learning, and student success. 

The Academy study process is built on a flexible system of study modules and are carried out at the first level of higher education and at professional education level.

Student services

Student Representation (StR) office is open for the students to purchase academy's keepsake items or ask advice on any issues that arise. 

Housing services

EAVA offers different options for accommodation in Tartu City centre dormitories. 

Library services

The library has about 9,000 information units, an area to spend free time and read newspapers, magazines. Students have access to all online resources and there are also places for studying at the library. 

ICT services

EAVA has invested in providing the highest level of technological support for all of its students and staff. From free WIFI access, to individual customer support, to ongoing software and equipment upgrades – our IT department seeks to meet the growing needs of our community. E.g. below is a brief overview of software we use, in teaching engineering sciences:

Medical services

All students entering Estonia are strongly recommended to arrange their own health insurance for the period of their study abroad before leaving their home country. Health insurance should cover health, accidents and hospital care. 

All insured residents have the right to choose their family practitioner, who is the first contact point in case of any illness.

Campus life

Our classrooms are equipped with all the modern technical devices to meet the needs of contemporary teaching process. 

Sports facilities

Using academy's gym is free of charge for the students, as well playing table tennis, foosball and air hockey. 

Student clubs

Student Representation (StR) is the highest representative and decision-making body of the students of the academy. It is elected annually and run by the chairman / chairwoman. The meetings of the StR take place at least twice a month. The problems concerning the student body of the academy are within the competence of the StR.

Accreditation

  • Estonian Aviation Academy is a regionally accredited institution through the Estonian Quality Agency for Higher and Vocational Education (EKKA). 
  • The Estonian Aviation Academy is an authorized training partner of the International Air Transport Association.
