Institutional Research seeks to provide data, reports, and analyses, that support institutional planning and decision-making, encourage the scholarship of teaching and learning, improve the curricular and co-curricular offerings, and effectively document the outcomes of a liberal arts education and the Alma Experience.
Beginning six months after each year’s graduation date, the Alma College Center for Student Opportunity (CSO) surveys graduates to determine their career outcomes — whether they are working and/or attending graduate school. Of the total number of 2016 graduates who responded to the survey, 92% are either employed or enrolled in graduate school or other educational programs within six months of graduation.

The residential nature of Alma College is an important part of the educational experience. Through its facilities, staff and programs, Alma’s residential community seeks to provide a personal living and learning environment in which learning extends beyond the classroom and student activities and organizations provide opportunities for social interaction and personal growth.
Students learn from one another in a shared residential experience, therefore, more than 90% of Alma College students live in college-owned or approved housing.
