About

History

St. Catherine University (formerly the College of St. Catherine) was founded in St. Paul in 1905 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, under the leadership of Mother Seraphine Ireland. The University is named for St. Catherine of Alexandria, the fourth-century Egyptian lay philosopher who suffered martyrdom for her faith.

Education

At every degree level, St. Kate’s prepares you to lead and influence by integrating a liberal arts curriculum with professional education. Within the Catholic tradition, you will learn intellectual flexibility and practical skills and become aware of social justice issues and complex ethical questions.

Research

Institutional Research, Planning & Accreditation (IRPA) shares data that support the University's effectiveness, policy-making, planning, and decision-making. Access to collected data is available to the entire campus community upon request. We routinely write reports on major institutional research.
