History
Founded in 1907 by Frederick Meyer, CCA is currently expanding its San Francisco campus with new student housing and a new building by award-winning architecture firm Studio Gang.
Education
California College of the Arts educates students to shape culture and society through the practice and critical study of art, architecture, design, and writing.
Research
Through a focus on advanced digital technologies and material systems, design research and urban agency, CCA strives to develop the next generation of designers who will shape our future built environments.
Through four primary areas of research expertise, the CCA Digital Craft Lab (DCL) supports and promotes advanced research in architectural design, digital fabrication, material science, data visualization, and robotics.

With input from alumni, faculty, staff, and trustees, the college has partnered with Equity Community Builders/Emerald Fund to identify a range of options that celebrate CCA’s legacy and truly benefit the community.
