Lewis - Clark State College

Lewis-Clark State College is located at Lewiston, Idaho, where two rivers (Clearwater and Snake), two cities (Lewiston and Clarkston), and two states (Idaho and Washington) come together.

The Idaho Legislature of 1893 created a normal school in name, but failed to appropriate state funds to provide it with a permanent home. As was typical of that era and the century that followed, the citizens of Lewiston responded with open hearts.

Founded in 1893, Lewis-Clark State is a public undergraduate college with a three-part mission of academic programs, career & technical education programs, and community programs.

One of the top public comprehensive four-year colleges in the West, with its beautiful campus, small classes, and superb faculty, LCSC is often described as a public institution with the feel and quality of a private college.

Career & Advising Service's (CAS) mission is to advise and empower individuals as they explore educational and career options and develop skills to succeed in their career goals.

Student services

The Associated Students of Lewis-Clark State College (ASLCSC) is comprised of elected students who represent the student body, interacting with college administrators and faculty to ensure that students enjoy a quality education experience.  ASLCSC facilitates "the articulation of student opinions and interests both in governance of the college and to the community; the encouragement of the greatest level of cooperation and communication between students and their organizations; the assurance of full student access to quality education; the provision for programs and services to benefit students; and the encouragement of the highest level of excellence in education."

Housing services

About 10 percent of LCSC’s students live in campus housing and they get to know each other really well by the end of the first semester. LCSC has four co-ed residence Halls: Clark Hall, Talkington Hall, Clearwater Hall, and Parrish House.  All of the buildings are co-ed.  We also manage a privately owned residence hall, College Place. Most halls have designated rooms for students with disabilities.

Medical services

All LCSC students, full and part-time, are eligible to utilize services at Student Health and Student Counseling Center.

Student Life

Campus life

Lewis-Clark State College’s Residence Life program is dedicated to helping students make an easy transition from high school to college by creating an academically supportive on-campus community where ideas are shared, fun is had, and lifelong friendships are formed.

Student clubs

To enrich the college experience, Lewis-Clark State College has a number of clubs and organizations that students can become involved with. Through this experience students have a chance to explore opportunities, learn and practice skills, have an impact on their environment, and gain a greater sense of belonging to the campus community.
