Pine Manor College was originally established as a post-secondary division of Dana Hall School in Wellesley in 1911 by the late Helen Temple Cooke, a pioneer dedicated to preparing women for successful lives. Today, the College offers bachelor’s and associate’s degrees, as well as a Master of Fine Arts degree. Its evolution has been one of planned growth linked to the evolution of expanding opportunities for women.

The mission of the Career Development Office is to prepare students and alumni to successfully develop and manage their careers. Students will interact with the Career Development staff each year of their college experience. Alumni are encouraged to connect with our office for career guidance and to support students by acting as mentors and resources for internships and jobs.

Residence halls are grouped in villages which are composed of five residential halls, each of which accommodates about 30 students. Each hall consists of two floors: 4 double bedrooms, 4 single bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. There are a maximum of 12 students on each floor and 6 students to each bathroom. Each building also has a common area called “The Pit” where students use for socializing, watching television, and/or studying. Each village also has a laundry room.
The Annenberg Library supports the educational mission of Pine Manor College in its efforts to educate and empower a diverse student body to become accomplished, reflective citizens in today's global society.
There are two general-use computer labs available at Pine Manor for e-mail, Office suite applications, Web browsing and laser printing. All PCs on campus run the latest versions of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
Pine Manor College is a private four-year liberal arts college situated on over 45 wooded acres in the Chestnut Hill section of Brookline, Massachusetts, only a few miles outside of Boston. The Health Office is located on the second floor of the student center. The Health Office is responsible for collecting and maintaining immunizations as required by Massachusetts state Law (get this) and for acting as a campus resource to connect students with local health and medical resources.
At PMC, what students do outside of the classroom is just as important as what goes on inside the classroom. Co-curricular activities are encouraged and are considered a vital part of each student’s education and leadership development. Opportunities to participate in community service, student organizations, intercollegiate athletics, performing arts, and recreational activities are widely available to Pine Manor students and the college’s proximity to Boston greatly enhances the student experience.
Pine Manor College is fully accredited to grant Bachelor of Arts, Associate of Arts, Associate of Science and Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing degrees by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education, New England Association of Schools and College (NEASC).
