Research is one of the things that makes us who we are. We value the curiosity that drives Ducks to seek solutions to big problems, little problems, and problems that everyone thinks are already solved. With many projects to choose from, our students get access to internships and research opportunities. In fact, 80.5 percent of our undergraduate students participate in some form of research.

Student services

It may seem like you’re the only one who’s homesick, struggling in a class, anxious about the future, or even a little bit lonely. The reality is, most college students have these feelings at some point—especially at the beginning (but sometimes in the middle or the end) of every school year. We understand. And we have all kinds of services to help you get the support you need. Just ask.

Housing services

Living on campus is about connection: to friends, resources, and great food. Our residence halls are designed to enhance your life on campus, with live-in faculty members, locally sourced and organic food, traveling tutors and advisors—even communal kitchens, music practice rooms, and a makerspace. In short, everything you need to start your college career right at home.

Library services

The University of Oregon Libraries is an essential partner in the University’s educational, research, and public service mission. We are committed to providing the university with outstanding library resources, programs, and services.

Student Life

Campus life

Nestled between rivers, mountains, and a rocky coastline—we’re all about beautiful contrasts.

We’re relentlessly innovative, but grounded in a history we’re constantly learning from. We’re thinkers who create, builders who dream, adventurers, and change agents happily rooted in our own personal arboretum.

We love technology and nature, abstract art and discrete mathematics. We believe in respect and inclusion, conversation, and collaboration, and we’re always interested in diverse perspectives.

Sports facilities

The Student Recreation Center has provided diverse spaces and activities to facilitate active, balanced lives since 1999. The expansion in 2015 added 110,000 square feet of new space and updated sustainability and accessibility features to better serve the campus community.

Student clubs

Student clubs and organizations are the glue that holds the University of Oregon student community together. The Associated Students of the University of Oregon (ASUO) sponsors more than 300 student groups that you can join. They range from the Argentine Tango Club to the Women’s Law Forum—check out a list of them on the Engage website. If you don’t see a club that sparks your interest, start a new one!

Quick Quack about University of Oregon
Anonymous rated 4 out of 5 stars

I really enjoyed the campus at U of O. My professors were almost all very knowledgeable and helpful. Overall, the campus culture is laid back and fun. The biggest downside was limited parking for students who live off campus.

The is no such thing as a lost Student, just a Student that is lost

For someone who struggled with focus and distraction, I was mentored and pushed into the man I am today. Self Driven, Focused, I have 3 jobs outside of work, and I hold down my own living place. One on one attention, and true care for students.

An Exchange Student from France in the USA who grabbed all the opportunities he was offered. I do whatever it takes to reach my dreams!

As an international student and exchange student, it has been a great social and professional experience. Indeed, I have been meeting great people including students, diverse people but also teachers. I have been learning geophysics which corresponds more to my ambitions than geochemistry which is what I studied in France. I also discovered totally different methods of...
