OAMC’s first students assembled for class on December 14, 1891, even though there were no buildings, no books, and no curriculum. The college’s first students attended classes in the Stillwater Congregational Church. The original campus consisted of 200 acres of prairie that were donated by four local homesteaders. The college’s first six graduates received their diplomas in 1896.

The William E. Brock Memorial Library is a branch of the OSU Library. Our collection development focuses on the veterinary medical sciences and related fields. Our goal is to aid the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences' students, faculty, researchers, clinicians and staff. We also serve pre-veterinary students, CVHS alumni, practicing veterinarians, and the departments of animal science, biochemistry, molecular biology, zoology and nutritional sciences.

Oklahoma State University will utilize a new and transformed model for maintaining institutional accreditation, the Open Pathway. The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association, referred to as the HLC, is replacing the Program to Evaluate and Advance Quality with two new Pathways, the Standard Pathway and the Open Pathway. OSU has been approved to adopt the highest accreditation standard represented by the Open Pathway.
