Overview

Philosophers ask, “Why do you think that?” By investigating our basic assumptions, philosophers evaluate whether these beliefs are true, and see the reasons we believe what we believe. The Philosophy program in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences offers a major, a minor, and a certificate in ethics. You can start this Philosophy program offered by Simon Fraser University at the Surrey campus.

With the undergraduate advisor, a student may design a minor program with an emphasis that complements a special interest. For example, programs may be designed for students with an interest in law, language, natural or social science, history of ideas, social theory, value theory or logic.
