Overview
The Acting for Film, TV and the Theatre program from Toronto Film School applies the Stanislavski Method to blend film and television acting with the critical foundations of stage technique. The program is taught by a faculty of acclaimed actors, with credits including The Handmaid’s Tale, American Gods, Orphan Black and Taken.
You will explore artistic, technical and business areas of acting, through practical, hands-on training. From movement to voice and improvisation, you will learn the foundations of acting for the camera and stage, as well as the skills for voice-over, screenwriting, pitching, producing, directing, video editing, auditioning and career management.
Professional Portfolio And Career Management
You’ll leave the program with professional headshots and an industry-ready portfolio including a demo reel of your film work, a short film and a voiceover mp3. You’ll also get expert advice on self-marketing, auditioning, and finding the right agent, as well as meet with Casting Workbook.
Cross Collaboration
At Toronto Film School, you’ll have a unique opportunity for cross-industry collaboration, working with peers across creative programs and building a diverse network of entertainment professionals. You’ll perform in the productions of filmmaking students, table read film and television scripts with writing students, create pitch packages with graphic design students and record voiceovers with video game design students.
