Overview
Nursing at York University is a four-year direct-entry programme that pairs academic study with immersive practical training. The course blends anatomy, pathophysiology and pharmacology with extensive hands-on learning in simulation and clinical environments. Students progress from fundamental assessment and communication skills to specialised clinical decision-making across acute and community contexts.
Why Nursing at York University?
The curriculum includes optional streams that allow deeper study in areas such as High Acuity and Critical Care, Mental Health, Illness and Addiction, Nursing Leadership and Care of the Older Adult. The programme is approved by the College of Nurses of Ontario, which permits graduates who meet eligibility to attempt the registration examination required for designation as Registered Nurses. York also provides an accelerated three-year option for qualified students wishing to complete studies over eight terms including summers.
