Overview

Design at York University combines a two-year common core with specialised upper-year concentrations and a strong emphasis on applied practice. The Design programme invites students to explore Interaction Design (UX/UI), Information Design and Visual Communication Design while grounding work in design history, theory and criticism. Teaching balances conceptual study with practical production so students build portfolios and practical skills across media.
