Overview

Creative Writing at York University offers an applied, craft‑focused undergraduate path where students learn to shape voice and form across genres. Teaching is led by practising, published writers whose expertise spans novels, short fiction, poetry, memoir, creative non‑fiction and cross‑genre work. The opening year combines genre practice with broader humanities and social‑science study to strengthen research, critical thinking and communication.
