Through history, civil engineers have designed and built monumental structures such as; the Great Pyramids in Egypt, Pont du Gard in France, the Iron Bridge in England, the Eiffel Tower in France, the Akashi Kaiky? Bridge in Japan, the Petronas Twin towers in Malaysia, and Burj Khalifa in the United Arab Emeritus.
Programme Overview
We offer a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering at German University in Cairo. Civil engineers have contributory roles in the sustainability and advancement of civil societies. Moreover, civil engineers systematically provide efficient mitigation and innovative solutions meeting society needs and aspirations.
Civil engineers; plan, design, construct, operate, and maintain the built environment for modern life. They help protect the society from natural disasters, e.g. floods, earthquakes and hurricanes, as well as manage natural resources. A civil engineer should demonstrate good work ethics and maintain responsibility to the public.
Civil engineers are fortunate since they design and build their own monuments (high-rise buildings, bridges, towers, skyscrapers, subway stations, hydroelectric dams, tunnels, water supply networks, irrigation systems, roads, transportation systems, airports, industrial facilities, energy facilities, utility lines, etc.) with the public consent.
Programme Structure
Courses Overview- The Civil Engineering Program, with its four majors is organized as 4+1 academic program and comply with Bologna Agreement to produce compatibility an comparability with the academic study programs in the German and European Universities.
- This program organization allows the students to finish 240 ECTS of their academic study at end of the 8th semester by successfully completing all the required courses (210 ECTS), the bachelor thesis for 3 months (15 ECTS), and the internship of at least 3 months (15 ECTS).
- Accordingly, the students of the Civil Engineering Program are qualified to earn an international bachelor degree, which is Bologna compliant, at the end of the 8th semester or 4 years.

General requirements
- The student must complete the online application.
- After filling in the online application, the student will get an application number.
- Once the student fills in the online application , s/he will receive an email “ admission test invitation email “ , where s/he will be required to reserve the admission test session online ( Please note that the German Schools’ graduates as well as students graduated from Germany are exempted from the admission tests )
- The student will receive a confirmation for her/his test session date and time.
- The student MUST follow the instructions written in the test confirmation email very carefully.
