The Engineering (Honours)- Mechanical Engineering course from University of Wollongong faculty members who drive relevant and cutting-edge research will teach you how to apply this knowledge in real situations, preparing you to engineer the future.

The first year of study allows you to learn more about engineering and its various fields. From your second year, you will focus on your chosen major, while in your third and fourth year of the major you will branch into more specialised areas.

Your degree also includes 12-weeks hands-on industry experience, either in Australia or overseas, as well as a range of industry projects and other career-ready learning opportunities.

Mechanical engineers design, build, test and maintain all kinds of machines from robots to cars to space vehicles. They are continually designing, building and testing new forms of environmentally safe and sustainable technologies such as solar energy, solar vehicles, and wave and wind energy. You can select electives from a number of specialist areas in your final year including sustainable energy and engineering systems, intelligent manufacturing, applied mechanics, robotics, automotive and bulk materials handling, and engineering management.

This major includes 12-week hands-on industry experience either in Australia or overseas with financial support opportunities, as well as a range of industry projects and other career-ready learning opportunities.
