As well as gaining first-hand exposure to pioneering research, in your final year you will have a wide choice of options from across engineering and mathematics to fit your interests.

A major focus of the  Engineering Mathematics with Study Abroad course from University of Bristol, and a key strand throughout the curriculum, is real-world problem solving, spanning many different application areas from robotics and social media to medicine and environmental modelling. Problems come from our industrial collaborators or address challenges in current research. Working on these case studies, using theory and techniques from your other units, you will develop your mathematical modelling, collaboration and communication skills.

  • A-level Contextual offer: ABB including A in Mathematics
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma Standard offer: 36 points overall with 18 at Higher Level, including 6 at Higher Level in Mathematics
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma Contextual offer: 32 points overall with 16 at Higher Level, including 6 at Higher Level in Mathematics
  • Cambridge Pre-U offer: Requirements for principal subjects are as for A-level, where D1/ D2 is A*, D3 is A, M1/ M2 is B, M3 is C
  • BTEC offer: DDD in Engineering plus either A in A-level Mathematics or achieving the required level in the University of Bristol Mathematics Test
