Overview
On the Law with Business (Hons) degree offered by University of Brighton you’ll explore legal theory and gain practical legal skills, but from a business perspective.
At Brighton Law School we focus on practice-led learning to ensure that you’re prepared for the workplace. You’ll gain practical skills such as negotiation, client interviewing and mooting, plus transferable skills such as public speaking, that will make you an attractive candidate for a range of professions.
In your final year you can also gain work experience in our pro bono legal clinic.
Career prospects
You will be in a good position to embark on a legal career upon graduating, but good communication, problem-solving, analytical and research skills developed during your law degree are also relevant to many careers such as banking, insurance and Civil Service.
The School of Business and Law has strong links with the local legal profession and, in addition to the optional placement year, you are encouraged to complete vacation placements with solicitors’ firms, mini pupillages with barristers’ chambers and internships with other institutions.
