
Overview
You’ll analyse data, conduct research and interpret economic indicators, and gain skills in economic modelling, statistical analysis, financial analysis and forecasting. These analytical skills can be applied to many business functions, such as financial planning, market research, investment analysis and strategic decision-making.
After your first year at at the Business Management with Economics (Hons) degree offered by University of Brighton , you can continue to specialise in economics, switch to our general Business Management degree, or change your specialism to entrepreneurship, finance, human resource management, law or marketing. You also have the opportunity to gain valuable industry experience and earn money with an optional placement year.

This course is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute. All students successfully completing a three-year Business Management route, and who have passed the qualifying modules, will have completed the study required for the Chartered Management Institute’s Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership.

General requirements
- A-levels or BTEC
Entry requirements are in the range of A-level BBB–BCC (120–104 UCAS Tariff points), or BTEC Extended Diploma DMM–MMM. Our conditional offers typically fall within this range.
- International Baccalaureate
26 points, with three subjects at Higher level.
- Access to HE Diploma
Pass with 60 credits overall. At least 45 credits at level 3, with 24 credits at merit.
- Foundation degree/HND
May enable you to start the course in year 2. Relevant subjects required. HNC may also count towards direct entry.
