Overview
The Civil Engineering BEng programme at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University civil engineers contribute significantly to the development of society by planning, designing, constructing and managing infrastructure. The construction of buildings, bridges, roads, tunnels, ports, harbours, drainage systems and water treatment plants are all carried out by civil engineers.
Upon graduation you will have fully satisfied the educational base for an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) in the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) in the United Kingdom, and partially satisfied the educational base for a Chartered Engineer (CEng).
Career opportunities:
Graduates from this programme are well prepared for roles such as structural engineer, project manager, consulting engineer, construction inspector, hydraulic engineer and geotechnical engineer in both the private and public sectors.
The programme also offers a strong foundation for further study or a research career with many of our graduates pursuing postgraduate qualifications at some of the world’s top universities.

General requirements
We welcome applications from high-quality candidates in all subjects with appropriate high school or equivalent qualifications. Students will normally be expected to have a high standing in their high school performance with a minimum B average in all subjects as well as relevant subjects.
Year two entry:
Students who have completed A-levels or International Baccalaureate (or equivalent) will be considered for entry into Year Two, different programmes have different subject-relevant requirements.

IB Diploma: 30 points
AP Exams/ACT Tests/SAT II Subject Tests – High school diploma with a GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above.
