The University of Glasgow was among the first in the UK to offer a degree in Molecular & Cellular Biology: the first students graduated with this degree in 1965.Our teaching is informed by cutting-edge research and close links with the Institute of Molecular, Cell & Systems Biology. The UofG is extremely well equipped for fluorescence imaging and laser-scanning confocal microscopes

Our G-Gnomes Society welcomes students from a biomolecular background, with regular guest lectures from top researchers and a different social event each month.

Our graduates of the Molecular and Cellular Biology programme from University of Glasgow are employed in the pharmaceutical, biomedical and biotechnological industries; others go on to postgraduate research in laboratories and then into research careers.

Careers of some of our graduates include:

  • Research Associate: Wellcome Trust
