All Business and Management students have the opportunity to take the ILM accredited Professional Skills Programme, which is designed to improve your professional skills, prepare you for work and to develop the attributes you need to excel in your career.

Recent graduates have gone on to a vast array of jobs in public and private sectors as consultants, managers, market researchers, analysts, financial advisers, civil servants and project executives.  Some of the employers that have recruited our graduates in the recent past are Arnold Clark, BDO, Deloitte, FDM Group, Grant Thornton, KPMG, Morgan Stanley, PWC and Scottish Enterprise.


  • The Adam Smith Business School has specialised international accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Our teaching provision is also accredited by the Association of Business Schools and the Association of MBAs (AMBA). We have also been awarded accreditation under the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), operated by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). The triple-crown accreditation puts us in the top league of international business schools.
  • Students can take an elective route in Human Resource Management (HRM) on the MA in Business and Management, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). This is the ‘gold standard’ for the profession and provides students with a real competitive advantage if they want to pursue a career in HRM.
