Overview

To study English is to study language’s fundamental role in making the world and our experience of it. To study with us is to share the classroom with a faculty that has won more teaching awards than any department at SFU, all while authoring and editing a disproportionate number of scholarly books and articles, not to mention award-winning fiction, poetry, and drama.

The English program at Simon Fraser University in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences offers a major, a minor, and certificates in creative writing and in writing and rhetoric. You can start this program at the Surrey campus.
