Training is delivered at The Lir Academy, a custom-built facility developed in partnership with the Cathal Ryan Trust and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London. The academy provides a safe and professional environment where students can expect approximately 35 hours of contact time per week, mirroring the demands of a professional theatre company.

Careers with Acting
Graduates are prepared for immediate entry into the professional world of stage and screen. The programme places a significant emphasis on career preparation, teaching students how to sustain a long-term career in the performing arts. In the final year, students perform in multiple productions and an audition showcase in both Dublin and London, specifically designed to attract agents, directors, and producers. This exposure provides direct links to international employment opportunities in theatre, film, and television.
Programme Structure
Courses include:- Students in the first two years of the course take compulsory modules in Acting and Text, Movement Studies and Voice Studies. Teaching is by practical workshop and delivered by professional practitioners. In addition, there is considerable individual tuition to supplement the workshops in all aspects of the course. Students will also be introduced to the techniques of acting for recorded media (film, radio, television).
- Students will be cast in a series of 5 theatre productions, directed by professional theatre directors. Each production will have multiple performances over a 7-day period and will play to invited agents, directors, producers, as well as the general public. Students will also be cast in a short film, directed by a professional film director and filmed both on set and on location.
