Nutrition plays a key part in the promotion of good health and the primary prevention of diet-related illness in communities and populations.

Become a critically reflective practitioner and gain practical experience in the health science and catering laboratories

Gain an understanding of the relationship between food, nutrition and health

Manage, analyse, interpret and communicate information and statistics about nutrition related health and disease states

Undertake work-based placements to apply your expertise and refine your practical skills

Have the option to undertake either a 20-30 day placement after year two, or a longer sandwich placement year between years two and three

General requirements

UCAS Tariff Points: 120 points required.

GCSE English Language and Maths at Grade 4 or above or equivalent. Key Skills Level 2, Functional Skills Level 2 and the Certificate in Adult Literacy and Adult Numeracy are accepted in place of GCSEs.

Access to HE Diploma: Pass overall with a minimum of 120 UCAS tariff points with at least 15 merits in science.

T Levels: Pass overall with a minimum of 120 UCAS tariff points, including a C or above on the core, in a relevant subject.

International baccalaureate: 120 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of 3 Highers of which at least 2 must be grade H5 or above and to have at least 40 points in a science.

DBS Check: Satisfactory enhanced criminal history checks will be required by all applicants prior to acceptance on the course.

Health Check: For certain Professional Body courses, Occupational Health checks are also part of the entry requirements.
