Overview

Nutrition plays a key part in the promotion of good health and the primary prevention of diet-related illness in communities and populations.

As part of this Nutrition (Hons) course from Leeds Beckett University , you’ll:

• Become a critically reflective practitioner and gain practical experience in the health science and catering laboratories

• Gain an understanding of the relationship between food, nutrition and health

• Manage, analyse, interpret and communicate information and statistics about nutrition related health and disease states

• Undertake work-based placements to apply your expertise and refine your practical skills

• Have the option to undertake either a 20-30 day placement after year two, or a longer sandwich placement year between years two and three

This Nutrition (Hons) course from Leeds Beckett University is accredited by the Association for Nutrition (AfN) and is recognised as a valuable science-based degree. Upon graduation, you will be eligible to apply to be a registered associate nutritionist with the AfN. Graduates work as nutritionists and health advisors in a wide variety of sectors, including the food industry, in product development and marketing, within public health, in research and for major supermarkets.
