The Degree in International Relations at Blanquerna - Universitat Ramon Llull has an academic structure based principally on the main Anglo-Saxon models of reference in the world, giving special emphasis to the political science dimension. A second element of particular significance with regard to the contents of the degree lies in the importance given to the separate study of “regional” problems.

Our studies are fully accredited internationally, up-to-date and has a clearly specialized, professional orientation. It is a plan which offers solid training in areas like international relations and foreign policy, in the classic sense: commerce and international economics, international cooperation and in questions related to the global dynamics of communication as well.

Specialization tracks

The International Relations Degree at Blanquerna - Universitat Ramon Llull offers three specialization tracks in the third year which the student can choose between, depending on the career he or she wants to embark upon. The three tracks are:

    Foreign Policy and the European Union.International Economy and Development.International Communications.
Why study International Relations in Barcelona?

Studying International Relations in Barcelona makes more sense now than ever because Barcelona and its surroundings are the nucleus of intense international activity which translates into Barcelona being the third largest consular center in the world and the first public body at a sub-national level to sign agreements with organizations in the United Nations system.?Barcelona is the seat of many high-level international delegations, such as the European Parliament Delegation and the European Commission and the headquarters of the Union for the Mediterranean. It also has a long tradition as the seat of organizations of economic cooperation and development and of important international trade fairs. One such important fair has designated Barcelona the “Mobile World Capital” from 2012 to 2018.

Work practice and studying abroad

The School has initiated a series of contacts with different universities and institutions with the purpose of signing cooperation agreements for the exchange of students and professors, and in order to carry out together activities of development and research that are of mutual interest.

The opportunity for students to do an internship abroad through the Erasmus and other programs –thanks to the bilateral cooperation agreements that the School can establish– is another of the characteristics of this new Degree in International Relations.

The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.


Courses at Blanquerna are paid for in stages without any type of interest. The total amount is divided as follows: 50% at enrolment and the remaining 50% in nine payments (each month from October to June) via the bank.

In order to make studies at Blanquerna University accessible, students have various options, internal or external, to obtain significant economic help: State grants, Blanquerna's Grants, Scholarship grants, task grants, financial subsidies and job vacancy list.
