You'll be working in The Salon, based at Hammersmith & Fulham College, which is open to the public, giving you real life customer service and client care experience. The course takes place over 2 days each week, with a minimum of 3 hours of self study required.

General requirements

This course is open to all learners aged 18 and over. It is recommended that applicants have:

Beauty Therapy - Level 3, or equivalent (or equivalent medical qualifications).

Four GCSEs grade 5 or above, including English and maths or Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 2

In addition, this course has a specific dress code to comply with industry standards:

Nails must be short and well-maintained

Make-up should be natural-looking

Hair must be clean, well-cared for and tidy; if your hair is longer than shoulder length, it should be tied up in a bun

Personal jewellery is not allowed during practical lessons

Beards and moustaches must be neatly groomed and trimmed

Short-sleeved clothing with The Salon uniform/scrubs, accompanied by flat, covered black shoes

You may also need to complete an initial assessment in English and Maths, depending on your grades.
