Overview

The biological component of the Biology and Psychology (Hons) degree curriculum at Durham University links academic theory with practical experience, taught by subject specialists, whilst the elements of Psychology studied are designed to give you an understanding of the mind and behaviour. These will be linked so that you can see the biological mechanisms that underlie people’s behaviour.

General requirements

The standard offer is A*AA including an A in Biology, Chemistry or Human Biology, and one other science A Level. Psychology, Maths and Geography are all considered sciences for the purposes of admissions.
At least one A Level grade in a Science subject (Biology, Human Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics) is required at the grades listed above for a particular subject.
IB diploma score 37 All applicants taking the International Baccalaureate will need a score of 37 points overall including 766 at the Higher Level with at least one of these in a Science (Biology; Chemistry; Mathematics; Physics.) You will need specific Higher Level grades to study: Biology: 6 in either Biology or Chemistry.
