Overview
The Crime with Forensic Investigation (Hons) course at University of Huddersfield focuses on the relationship between forensic science and criminal investigation, allowing you to explore areas such as forensic evidence, investigative practice, violent crime and the role of forensic professionals within law enforcement and legal proceedings. This perspective helps you understand how scientific methods support decision-making across the criminal justice process.
Your Career
Graduates of criminology and policing courses may go on to wide variety of carers, including in the police as warranted officers, civilian investigators, evidence officers and crime analysts. Other career pathways could include probation or probation services officers, prison officers, Local Authority units such as anti-social behaviour unit, homelessness and housing officers, drugs and mental health workers. The forensic specialism of this course will also prepare you for work within forensic roles in the police where you do not require a pure forensic science degree.
