Archaeology

During your Archaeology and Contemporary Mediterranean Studies course of studies offered by University of Malta , they will provide you with the academic knowledge required to understand how archaeology is a necessary and important area through which modern society can learn about primitive or ancient societies and cultures on a global scale. They offer a Mediterranean archaeological perspective where you will have the opportunity to put to practice the concepts and theories learned into the field work unit offered during summer recess. 

They will also encourage you to undergo the Erasmus+ mobility programme, as they believe that a diversified and multi-cultural experience through international learning will provide you with a more refined learning outcome.

Applicants wishing to join the part-time mode must submit their application as full-time, and then include a note in the comments box of the application form, denoting their preference to be considered for the part-time option. Such requests will be considered by the Board of the Faculty.

Contemporary Mediterranean Studies

The programme of study allows you to gain a vast understanding of Mediterranean affairs in modern society through a vast array of perspectives, ranging from anthropology, politics and foreign policy, to international relations, migration and multi-country relations. 

During your course of studies, you will be encouraged to participate in the Erasmus+ mobility programme, as they believe that having an international academic learning experience will give you a more rich and multicultural perspective of the subject matter.

Careers

Archaeology

As a graduate of this course, you will have career opportunities both locally and abroad, in which your valuable knowledge on the subject will be demonstrated. You will be able to pursue a career as an archaeologist, conservator, heritage manager, historic buildings inspector or conservation officer, museum/gallery curator, tourism officer, records manager, archivist, cartographer and as a social research. 

If you are interested in furthering your studies, or are considering an academic career in archaeology, then they encourage you to enrol in a postgraduate course offered at the University, where you will be able to hone your knowledge and gain a holistic understanding of the subject.

Contemporary Mediterranean Studies

As a Contemporary Mediterranean Studies graduate, you will be able to work in a variety of occupations, both locally and abroad, as an office supervisor, operations manager, chief executive, personal service manager, and research consultant. 

If you are interested in furthering your studies for a more holistic academic experience, or to pursue an academic profession, then you are encouraged to take on a postgraduate course offered at the University.
